HAGO High Impact Educational Workshops

Help A Girl Out (HAGO) is dedicated to empowering young girls and women by providing access to menstrual products for those experiencing period poverty and educational workshops to address the challenges surrounding menstruation.

HAGO aims to reach individuals through education and awareness initiatives, specifically targeting participants of menstruating age within and external to Ontario. HAGO’s workshops educate on topics related to uterine and menstrual health, puberty, body confidence, advocacy, self-esteem and mental health.

These educational workshops were powered by Menstrual Equity Fund (MEF) Pilot project funded by Women and Gender Equality (WAGE) Canada through Food Banks Canada in 2023 – 2025.

Targeted Outreach: HAGO’s objective is to primarily reach participants of menstruating age through workshops designed with specific goals in mind. Participation will not be limited to females, but will be offered to all genders. A particular effort will be made to encourage males to participate in our programming with the goal of reducing the menstrual education gap that exists between genders.

Our educational learning series and theme for 2024 is “Stigma Ends With Me” (SEM). We aim to attract a high volume of participants from a range of backgrounds, including schools (primarily colleges and universities), community centres, support organizations, religious groups, corporate stakeholders, etc. to maximize awareness and reach.

Curriculum:

HAGO recognizes the importance of a comprehensive and
engaging curriculum to ensure effective knowledge transfer and participant
